Complete Health Assessment

A Complete Health Assessment is just that, Complete! The idea is to allow you to lead a fully mobile and pain free life and to do that, we need all the information. Your assessment will be completed by our Health and Wellbeing Specialist, Doug Eldred.

Doug is the owner and principal Chiropractor of our clinic with extensive experience and client base. Doug will firstly discuss with you all the facets of your health. This will include your presenting symptoms, your work and lifestyle habits, prior injuries as well as what your health goals are going forward. It is this information that provides the foundation of your assessment and gives an overview of you, your health and the changes you want to make.

Getting Physical

The next step is a physical assessment. This complete head to toe examination allows us to establish where the areas of pain, swelling and soreness are in your body. Doug will explain all the steps along the way whilst investigating what areas of pain and restrictions you may have.

X-Ray Vision

If necessary our clinic is fully equipped with an X-ray machine that will determine any ‘unseen’ problems. Taken standing up, the X-ray results allow us to see how you hold your body and what underlining issues this may present. The convenience of having this technology onsite means you an
have X-rays taken during your initial consultation with no need to make a booking for a later time. The Chiropractor will instruct you how to stand in a comfortable normal position so a true postural assessment can be performed.

Foot, Feet & Fuction

The Gait scan tool allows us to measure your weight balance when you are standing still and which parts of the foot are taking the most pressure. The Dynamic scan allows us to determine how the foot crosses the ground. A very high percentage of people have poor foot function. Poor foot function directly affects posture, balance, spinal alignment and can be a direct cause of ankle, knee, hip and low back problems..

Muscle Overtime

The second exciting piece of technology we have onsite is the Electromyography (EMG) machine. This clever device measures the electrical signals that muscles produce when they contract. It allows us to view a graphical representation of areas of muscle overactivity, weakness and imbalance. When teamed up with X-ray’s we are given a clear picture of how you are holding your body and how much your muscles have to work to keep you upright!

Diet & Nutrition

A good diet and adequate nutrition is essential for a healthy mind and body. Without an adequate intake of nutrients, we can shift our body to poor health. Our Dietitian will carry out a brief nutritional assessment over 15 minutes to identify potential nutritional deficiencies or inadequacies, to gain insight into what aspects of diet require attention and whether some nutritional issues need to be explored further. You will obtain simple yet practical recommendations on how to address nutritional issues and improve overall diet quality.

Muscular Assessment

During your consultation one of our expert Remedial Massage Therapists will spend time with you performing a muscular assessment. They will look for spots of muscular tension, sore and painful areas and the location of trigger points. These findings will be detailed back to Doug, your Health & Wellbeing Specialist, and become part of your overall assessment.

Whole Life Analysis

Our Counsellor has designed a brief process to get a quick profile of your life in the present moment. In this session you will learn what valuable aspects Counselling and Life Coaching have to offer. You will also engage in a brief mapping exercise to look at various parts of your life. The mapping exercise will touch on the following topics; your goals, your dreams, key relationships, any changes you would like to make in your life and any obstacles that you currently have to achieving what you would like to achieve. Our Counsellor will also provide you with a report, outlining each of the areas previously stated and provide a short summary for you of where some of the connections may be between these things.

Movement, Strength & Fitness

During a PT assessment for the Health Wellness Analysis, we look at how your whole body moves, using the “7 Primary Movement Patterns” which are Walking, Squats, Lunges, Pushing, Pulling, Twisting and Bending plus or thopaedic as ses sment s and abdominal function. This allows us to define the way you move effectively. From here, we are able to tailor a program for you, addressing your goals and issues, whether for rehabilitation, weight loss, performance or muscle gain.

Emotional & Energetic Screening

During a kinesiology assessment for the Health Wellness Analysis, we look at your energy and emotional balances, using the “Neuro-Muscular-Organ Matrix”. We are able to test the function of 14 muscles through “Muscle Testing”, a form of Bio-feedback therapy, and each muscle has a relationship with the acupuncture system, which also has an emotional component for each one, allowing us to see where you hold most of the stress within your body. From here we can do further muscle testing to see which emotional state puts the most stress on you and give you some clarity and guidance on how to clear the stress.

Report of Findings - What does it all mean?

Once all your assessments are finished, a personalised report will be prepared for you. Doug will explain your results in detail, and provide you with a complete take home pack. Doug will make recommendations for a treatment program along with any lifestyle change suggestions. There is absolutely no obligation to commence treatment following your report however if you are keen to get back to life, we can help!
